Awake early
After a rough night of sleep
Thinking about my PSA
Wondering
What will it be
And take a deep breath
Not knowing
Feeling positive
About
My results
I take another deep breath
Go outside
And look at the stars
Knowing
They will be here
Long after I am gone
As a cancer patient
One thinks of death
I also think of life
And find joy in the places that I can
My care team
Is one of those places
How they have taken care of me
How they’ve smiled at me
The care that I have gotten
Always touches my heart
Thank you to all of you
So glad that you are there
